Three former GlenArbor caddie scholars share full-circle moment at Friends of The Fund
BEDFORD, N.Y. – A trio of MGA Caddie Scholar alumni shared a full-circle moment at the annual Friends of The Fund outing on Tuesday.
Sean Hamilton and Joe Bettini were on hand to play in the event celebrating The Fund's impact. There, they ran into their friend and MGACSF staff member, Kyle Keckeisen.
"The Friends of the Fund is such a unique event because it helps to bring together people who have been a part of the CSF for years and new people who want to be more involved," Keckeisen said. "I have known Joe and Sean for years and it was great to see them start to get more involved with giving back to the Caddie Scholarship Fund that helped them get started."
Keckeisen caddied alongside Bettini and Hamilton at GlenArbor before all three became MGACSF recipients. Since then, they've stayed close to each other and, as a result, The Fund.
"He's a lifelong friend and keeps us in the loop," Hamilton said. "It's a lot of a fun. We enjoy giving back."
Bettini echoed that same sentiment and expressed his gratitude for the opportunities caddieing provided and where they led to.
"Working at GlenArbor and being around the golf community and being able to be a recipient of that scholarship was truly incredible," said Bettini, who caddied along with Hamilton at the club for about eight years. "It impacted my life greatly."
"It had a great impact," Hamilton said of The Fund. "At a time in my life in college we didn't have much money, they were there to help me out and get me through school. Now, I'm an engineer and doing great and I'm happy to be back here and giving back to the organization."
