44th CSF Pro-Am a Success
BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. (July 21, 2025) – Sleepy Hollow Country Club hosted the 44th MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund Pro-Am Sponsored by Continental Properties on a picture-perfect July day on Monday.
One hundred ninety-six golfers supported the CSF and its charitable efforts across a morning and afternoon shotguns.
William Yost, Ed Rial, Bill Ceriello, and Robert Neville took home honors in the low-net competition at 16-under par. The winners in the low gross competition were Forrest Mann, Frank Lincks, Brian Haggerty, and Brian McManus, who finished at 8-under par.
The event serves as a fundraiser for the CSF, allowing the Fund to award need-based scholarships to young men and women attending college.
On Monday, four current or former caddie scholars were caddieing.
“It was a great experience today,” said Zachary Burnett. “It means a lot to see the event up close and the fact that I got to be a part of it. I couldn’t have asked for anything else.” Burnett attends SUNY Cortland and recently returned from studying abroad in Australia.
“Working at Sleepy Hollow and this outing in particular is very special. It is an honor to be here,” said Bruce Thompson, who graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1985. “My son is also a caddie scholar. I am so proud of my son Reed. It is nice to have both of our names on the CSF board here at Sleepy, so we are part of history here.”
Connor Shapiro added, “I had an awesome experience today. My group was great today, and it was fun being part of this event. I didn’t realize how big of an event it was until I saw how many guys were here. I was shocked by how many people were here supporting education and scholarships.” Shapiro graduated from Monmouth University in 2024.
Century Country Club will host the 45th edition next year.
