Segall Named First Bluestone Scholarship Recipient
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 25, 2024) – Andrew Segall, a caddie from Rockrimmon Country Club, is the first recipient of the Robert J. Bluestone Memorial Scholarship. Segall is a sophomore at the University of Connecticut, Stamford.
Segall has been a caddie and worked in the bag room at Rockrimmon for the last three years. He plans to major in business at UConn, Stamford. He recently completed his associate's degree at Connecticut State Community College.
Robert J. Bluestone was a long-time member and former club president of Rockrimmon Country Club and gave tirelessly back to the game of golf through his volunteer work with the MGA, WGA, and WGACSF (now MGACSF). He served on the Fund’s board of directors for 15 years and was president for two years. The Fund was established shortly after his passing in 2021, thanks to many generous donors.
Endowed and named scholarship funds provide additional opportunities for aid. These special scholarships are awarded according to guidelines established by the donor. Some are for specific fields of study, or for caddies from specific clubs, and some are awarded above and beyond the general MGACSF scholarship.
