Paul Dillon Inducted Into the Westchester Sports Hall of Fame
White Plains, NY (October 18, 2018) — Paul Dillon was one of four of the Class of 2018 to be inducted into the Westchester Sports Hall of Fame, an annual event in the area since 1968. Among Dillon, the other inductees included Joe Amuso, Kevin Bass, and Sharon Sarsen for their contributions in their respective sports.
Paul Dillon, a New Rochelle native, attended Archbishop Stepinac High School where he played baseball and ran track and later graduated from Iona College. His love for golf blossomed at age 23 and has been devoted to the game in the Metropolitan area ever since.
Dillon, a member of Winged Foot Golf Club, has served on executive committees of the Westchester Golf Association (President 1996-98) and the Westchester Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund (President 1997-2001). He is also a past president of the Metropolitan Golf Association, having served from 2003-04. A gifted artist, Dillon continues to paint portraits for the MGA and the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association.
In 1995, Dillon began his 22 year coaching position at Fordham University with the Men’s Golf Team. The Atlantic 10 Conference named him the 2004 Coach of the Year and in 2009-10 he guided the Rams to seven top-five finishes including the 2009 ECAC Championship Title.
Paul Dillon, still an active Director of the WGA Caddie Scholarship Fund Board, joins two fellow CSF influencers in the Westchester Sports Hall of Fame. Other inductees include Willie Turnesa (1969) and Guido Cribari (1980).
