2022 WGACSF Schedule Released
The Westchester Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund is excited to announce its full slate of 2022 events. The CSF schedule features six events at some of the marquee venues in the Westchester area. In addition, the CSF’s career prep night will once again be held in person at MGA Golf Central after a few seasons of the event being held remotely. With many great events on the calendar as the summer begins, get set for this year’s CSF schedule with each event previewed below.
Career Prep Week – June 13-17th
Last year, the WGACSF hosted its career prep night virtually. Despite that, it was the highest attendance for the event in its first five years. Nine panelists offered fantastic advice and personal experiences to help attendees in their professional lives. In addition, some of the panelists presented specific aspects of preparing for job interviews, crafting a resume and more. This year, we will be sharing various tips and advice virtually on our platforms during Career Prep Week.
41st CSF Pro-Am – Monday, July 11th @ The Round Hill Club
Despite last years Pro-Am being shortened due to rain, nearly 200 golfers attended the 40th iteration of the event at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. Once again the event will be held in Greenwich at the fantastic Round Hill Club. For over 40 years now, the Pro-Am has been one of the fundraising staples of the CSF. The event directly benefits the CSF’s Caddie Scholarship recipients.
47th Alumni Reunion – Tuesday, July 19th @ Ardsley Country Club
This outing serves as a very special day for the Fund where it can unite alumni together under a common bond that will last a lifetime. For every attendee who participates, a donation is made to the CSF. Last year the Alumni Reunion was held at The Saint Andrew’s Club, one of the founding members of the USGA. This year the event will be held less than five miles away at one of Westchester County’s hidden gems, Ardsley Country Club. The field in the event will compete in a Stableford competition with prizes being awarded for low net and low gross scores.
14th CSF Golf Marathon – Monday, August 22nd @ Tamarack Country Club
The Golf Marathon is a great event, held annually for over a decade. Supporters of the fund race around a course, trying to play as many holes as they can in one day. The WGACSF Marathon has grown into the program’s largest one-day fundraiser thanks to the dedication of participants and supporting clubs. In 2021 that remained the case as the Marathon smashed its previous fundraising record by over $100,000. The 2021 WGACSF Marathon was held on Monday August, 30th at Waccabuc Country Club. During the day, 28 golfers played 2,104 holes and helped raise over $223,000 for the WGACSF. It was the second year in a row the fund has recorded a new record in fundraising dollars. For the first time in the events history it will visit Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich to try and break a fundraising record for a third straight year.
8th Friends of the Fund Invitational – Thursday, September 15th @ Hudson National Golf Club
The Friends of the Fund invitational is an event created to celebrate those who contribute to the WGACSF. The Friends of the Fund Invitational is a great way for those who have given to the CSF to get out and enjoy a round together. For eight years now, the event will be held at the stunning Hudson National Golf Club. Offering some of the best views in the Westchester area, Hudson National is a perfect backdrop for the annual event. The Friends of the Fund event was conceived with the mission of making new friends and introducing them to the important work of the Caddie Scholarship Fund.
7th Christopher C Hickey Invitational – Thursday, September 22nd @ Country Club of Darien
Another event that has been held at the same venue since it began is the CCH Invitational. Started in 2016 by WGA Caddie Scholarship Fund board member Greg Hickey, the CCH Invitational serves as a very special event paying tribute to his late twin brother Chris. The 6th Annual CCH Invitational was held on October 4th at the Country Club of Darien. An amazing total of $49,171 was raised in the CCH auction and the overall fundraising gross total of $150,000 was an event record. With great momentum from last years event, the CCH will head back to Darien for what promises to be another incredible year for the event.
3rd Annual Tommy Goff Memorial Golf Outing – Monday, September 26th @ Knollwood CC
The Tommy Goff Memorial Golf Outing celebrates the life and legacy of Thomas M. Goff, who suddenly passed away in March of 2019. The event is one of the largest held by the WGACSF, hosting over 200 golfers in each of its first two years. This year, the event will be held at three separate clubs concurrently. Knollwood Country Club will be the main hub, with post-round dinner and drinks served there, while golf will also be available at Sunningdale Country Club and Metropolis Country Club. Last year the event was incredibly successful, raising over $70,000 for the Thomas M. Goff Memorial Scholarship.
Event registration for the Alumni Reunion and Pro-Am will open on April 15th. Check our social media and website for details and updates. Registration is currently open for the WGACSF Marathon. Please email jkielty@mgagolf.org to register today.
