Editor's note: This summer, Caddie Scholar Josh Retblatt is interning with the MGA Caddie Scholarship Fund. This is his final installment of his blog series.
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (September 19, 2025) - As my internship comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on how much I’ve learned and the experiences that have shaped my time here. When I started, I knew I’d be contributing to the program’s daily operations, but I didn’t fully realize how every task would connect to the bigger picture.
From ensuring bag tags were delivered to donors on time to reaching out to alumni ahead of the July reunion, I saw firsthand how organization, communication, and attention to detail can strengthen relationships and keep a community engaged. I also worked on enhancing our Instagram and LinkedIn presence, brainstorming and scheduling posts that highlighted milestones, recognized supporters, and built excitement for upcoming events. Seeing our audience respond and interact with the content we created was a rewarding reminder of the power of thoughtful outreach.
What I enjoyed most about this internship was the sense of connection—whether it was engaging with alumni, collaborating with colleagues, or communicating with supporters online. This role challenged me to balance short-term deadlines with long-term goals, adapt quickly to changing needs, and find ways to contribute creatively.
I’m leaving with valuable skills, stronger confidence, and a deeper appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work that keeps a mission moving forward. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of this team and excited to carry these lessons into whatever comes next.
