Golf Marathon Raises Over $200,000

NEW CANAAN, Conn. (August 18, 2025) – Twelve teams played 2,511 holes and raised over $200,000 at the 17th MGACSF Golf Marathon on Monday at the Country Club of New Canaan.

This year, the event raised $60,000 more than last year. The 2,511 holes equal 139.5 rounds of golf played on the 6,600-yard layout.

Caddie scholars Nicholas Bonanno and Ryan Schelling played on Team Tuxedo.

“It's awesome. Mr. Mottola is such an easy-going person to play with. New Canaan was a great host today,” said Ryan. “We had some good shots and some bad shots.”

“It was a pleasure to play today,” added Nicholas. “Playing with Ryan and Mr. Motolla, it was special.”

Pete Tsapatsaris said, “Today was a lot of fun. It was great seeing everyone out here and reminiscing.” Tsapatsaris graduated from John Jay in 1989 and is a caddie scholar alum.

The Country Club of New Canaan served as hosts for the first time since 2015.
